Morality of Gambling

What does morality in government really mean?

Apparently, under my current perception, it is the blatant effort to control - not it’s own ethical choices- but the unique lifestyle choices of it’s citizens on an individual level. Sorry folks, but that ain’t morality in government, that’s manipulation in government.

Take the "moral" choices of those we have spearheading such crusades; Drug use, Infidelity, Lying, Illegal Business deals, and the list goes on from there. Yet according to the majority of their so-called Christian values it is wrong for a competent, independent, financially self-reliant American to do what he or she chooses to do with his or her money. Online Casinos are a pastime enjoyed by those who wish to play. Those who do not wish to play are not being forced, and more importantly should not be allowed to make the choice whether to play or not to play for any individual other than themselves.

The situation with online casinos is just one example of how the mind set of controlling the population has begun to infringe on individual rights and liberties.

First of all, what is moral sanctity if it is never tested? In other words, to remove temptation is not to be morally sound through choice and conscious application of values, it is to be morally manipulated, handicapped by the inability to make actual ethical decisions.

Not only does such behavior violate our constitutional liberty and freedom, it also undermines God’s gift to the human race of the power of choice. I’m guessing he didn’t make a mistake, and he actually wants us to use it!
