Online Casinos Required to do More for eCOGRA
Have you ever
wondered just how fair online gambling is? If so, don’t worry,
for there is an online watchdog protecting the players
interests – and even more now. eCOGRA, the body responsible
for insuring that online gamblers are protected when gambling
at an online casino, has updated its regulations on online
casinos and raised the criteria for getting their Seal of
Approval.
eCOGRA has always kept a close repertoire with players, and
due to strengthening player concerns and feedback, has
implemented new safeguards against fraud and unprofessional
business practices online.
Of the new provisions, the ones in the players greatest
favor are the new auditing tests and guidelines that eCOGRA is
imparting to their independent online casino inspection
company, Price Waterhouse Coopers. Instead of insuring that an
acceptable number of gamblers - taken from a sample - are in
fact winning at each reviewed casino, online casinos are now
required to prove that all their monthly winners are
distributed in accord to fairness standards.
And the fairness standards have improved as well. All
casino slot machines are required to provide a combining
winning return of at least 92%, surpassing previous returns in
the eighty-something percentile.
Furthermore, parent companies are now required to obtain
the eCOGRA seal of approval for every casino they run, and
must display regulations and conditions on all bonuses and
promotional offers, so as not to mislead or confuse new online
gamblers.
Not bad for the player huh? Look for the eCOGRA Seal of
Approval on the homepage of an online casino. Many casinos are
out there – many have it and many do not. If the casino does,
rest a little easier you have a real fair chance of winning
some money.
