Casino City Appeals Motion of Dismissal
In response to the American governments crackdown against
online casino gambling and their prohibition of online casino
advertising, Casino City filed a case with
the U.S. Department of Justice, claiming their First Amendment
rights as stated by the Constitution, were violated by banning
the online casino to advertise.
Now, since Casino City’s claim was given a Motion of
Dismissal by the Department of Justice, they have
submitted a 28-page Memorandum of Law, in defense of its
original claim of free speech.
According to Casino City president, Michael Corfman, the
reason for the DOJ’s dismissal is flawed and erroneous. The
online casino expects their memorandum to give the District
Court cause to remove the dismissal and reinstate Casino
City’s original claim against the Department of Justice.
In the meantime, the online casino seems to be fairing just
fine, with a steady number of gamblers holding memberships and
playing at its online facilities. Perhaps Casino City really
does believe its rights have been abused.
