SkyCity Darwin Casino in Australia is now home to the world’s first college accredited casino management school located within a land-based operating casino. The school is beginning to already draw attention from potential students and elite casinos.

Called the Asia Pacific Casino and Hospitality Management School was given birth from a strong collaboration between Darwin’s International College of Advanced Education and the casino management at SkyCity Darwin. Students of the casino school, who are now being enrolled to start training in February of 2005, will be well trained in hands-on casino management skills, giving them a head-start over most other Hospitality programs.

Specifically, students will pass through four trimesters of study that will include work experience in the casino itself, as well as two trimesters of paid internship at a casino gambling establishment. Graduation from the casino school will take two years, and will be honored by an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.

In addition, graduates can enroll for the Regency College Bachelor of Business Program online, which only takes one year to complete. For now, the casino school at SkyCity Darwin is the only casino management, real-world education that other high-class casinos will undoubtedly model after in the near future.
