Branson Gets the Betting Bug

With all the other happenings as a result of Britain’s new gambling laws about to take effect, another big player in the prospective U.K. casino expansion has joined the British Casino Association. Sir Richard Branson, who recently joined the gambling industry by opening Virgin’s casino business slightly over two months ago, is considering offers to further invest in the casino gambling world - What many suspect to be primarily through Virgin Mobile Phones.

Branson has already denied allegations that he will be opening a chain of casino gambling establishments across the U.K. Instead, Branson plans to open only a couple of unique gambling destinations, which the new U.K. Gambling Bill may only allow anyways. It is suspected that only one mega-casino per region in England will be permitted. Las Vegas operators already have their hands in the mix, looking to be big prospective players abroad.

Since Tessa Jowell, Britain’s Cultural Secretary divulged that the new gambling bill will legalize online casino gambling and allow for more widespread land-based gambling with restrictions in place, the bill is being looked on as helpful and responsible.

As for Branson, his casino business has already brought in 35,000 gamblers. You can rest assured he knows this and is ready to do what it takes to bring in even more gamblers.
