Online Skill Gaming Draws Attention

In a move to capitalize on the U.S. gambling market, while staying in line with American bettling laws, new skill-gaming sites are being released into the online gambling community.

Skill gaming, which is essentially card games not labeled as typical online casino card games, offers popular games like Gin Rummy and Solitaire. Players are permitted to practice these games and others for free and/or play for real money. Gaming Corp, which owns and operates one of the most popular online casino sites in the UK, is releasing their own site in an attempt to tap into the online skill gaming industry, as well as take advantage of US gambling laws, which classify skill gaming as a form of competition rather than betting.

The industry of online skill gaming is a relatively new one, but shows a large demand and great potential in the near future. In 2004, online skill gaming was already a £76.3 million industry in Europe. And with a growth rate of 40% per year, in addition to widespread exposure to U.S. gamblers online, skill gaming is poised to become a lucrative industry for investors and players alike.

It is safe to say that skill gaming does not lack in traffic for its existing online ventures. Bringing in millions of unique visitors, it is safe to say the industry is reaching out to an even wider market, indirectly bringing America one step closer to legalizing online casino gambling.
