Federation Breaches Casino Software Agreement
It seems like one can’t trust anyone these days – even
those who claim to be the benefactor of good will and trust
for all. Take the Gambling Federation for instance, who is one
of the internet’s leading providers of online casino sites,
touting themselves as a professional and ethical
establishment.
However, GFED may need to take another class in ethics, and
an online one at that, for they were recently caught and
admitted to encrypting malware in their online casino software
downloads. According to Flaviano Fogli, Gambling Federation
CEO, the software was programmed to retrieve their patrons
private information in order to compete against another online
casino rival, Royal Dutch Casino. He went on to say that GFED
takes full responsibility, but also notes that the actions
were taken as a result of an employee who quit GFED to join
Royal Dutch, stealing GFED’s confidential patron database.
What makes the matter more wearisome is that the
Interactive Gaming Council, who states on their website that
the IGC exists to "establish fair and responsible trade
guidelines and practices that enhance consumer confidence in
interactive gaming products and services, and to serve as the
industry’s public policy advocate", will not comment on the
incident. It is even more interesting that Flaviano Fogli is a
board member on the Interactive Gaming Council.
As expected, patrons who were compromised during the
incident are outraged and disappointed in the unethical
practices of the Gambling Federation, which incidentally is
not giving the ICG very much credit these days.
