Deals Finalize in the Gambling Capital of the World
In Las Vegas, there is more financial related news on the forefront of the
casino resort business. The biggest news was the announcement by Caesar's
Entertainment Inc. that the purchase of Bally's Casino in New Orleans was
officially completed. It sold for $24 million to Columbia Sussex
Corporation in Kentucky.
In Pennsylvania, Harrah's Entertainment is taking steps to get involved with
the local community, now that the state has introduced new casino gambling
legislation. Called the Harrah's Chester Challenge, the initiative is
geared towards helping train potential casino employees for positions that will
be created by the new legislation.
There were more developments in the world of online mobile gaming, when
Diamond I, Inc. discussed its new Wifi Casino System - A hand-held, mobile
gambling device designed to be used by gamblers in remote areas fo casins with
at least one-hundred slot machines and one other casino game. The use of
the device is awaiting legislation to be signed by the Governor of Nevada.
