The e-Commerce and Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance
group, otherwise known as eCOGRA, has announced that it will
be starting a new marketing campaign centered around the
slogan "Play it Safe".
What sounds like a standard marketing strategy that will
include banner development, online casino portal advertising
and weekly gambling industry newsletters via coordinated
email, is actually a means to get the independent nature of
eCOGRA into a more commercial/mainstream being, and
consequently a more profitable one too.
The campaign will definitively be fueled for the first
quarter of 2005, after which, it will be reassessed and
implemented thereon accordingly. Although eCOGRA has not
released an exact marketing budget for the campaign, talk is
that this is just the beginning of a very broad crusade, and
will require large investments in the future.
Some believe that in order for eCOGRA to be accepted on a
more commercial level, they must cover more casino reviews and
need to be more open with their findings. For instance,
instead of sharing a small list of approved casinos on their
website, they might need to share a list of casinos that have
not met their approval and with the reasons why. Otherwise,
who knows how far the hand of eCOGRA is reaching. And this is
just what their new marketing plan strives to do…reach out.
