Playtech Provides More Than Online Casino
Software in Sri Lanka
The giant online casino software manufacturer, Playtech,
announced they will be sponsoring another humanitarian relief
effort along with several of their online casino licensees in
Sri Lanka. This particular humanitarian envoy is being chiefly
assembled by the worldwide disaster relief organization
Knightsbridge International, who has helped regions like
Chechnya and Rwanda, and has recently been repeatedly
transporting food and medical supplies into the region that
was devastated by the tsunami in late December.
The current mission will entail sending over $1.8 million
in medical supplies to help some 10,000 victims for a years
time. The supplies will be going directly through
Knightsbridge, rather than the Sri Lankan government, who has
been suspected of embezzling much of the relief effort funds
from other countries.
According to a Playtech Online Casino Software
spokesperson, choosing to team up with Knightsbridge
International was the obvious and smart choice, since no other
relief organization has gone into such dangerous and
devastated areas as the UK based company. Playtech is very
confident that Knightsbridge will get the medical supplies to
those in need, and nowhere else. Considering there are over
150,000 people greatly affected in Sri Lanka, this mission as
well as future ones are in great need. The supplies will be
flown from abroad into the region and dispersed to local
supply centers being supported by volunteers.
