Casino City Rejected for
Last Time
It has been many months since CasinoCity.com first made a
case against the US Department of Justice in its bid to fight
the governments ruling on banning online casino advertisement.
And now, after their petition to the US District Court of
Appeals for the Middle Court after being initially dismissed,
Casino City’s case and appeal has been dismissed again. It
seems as if the case has definitively come to a close, ending
the casinos fight to repeal the governments decision to ban
the advertising of online casino sites.
It was Casino City CEO Michael Corfman’s belief that the
initial pressuring of the government on such large search
engines like Google and Yahoo to cease advertising for online
casinos or face possible legal action was a violation of the
First Amendment, which states that all peoples have the right
to free speech. Yet, it seems the online casino has tried in
vain, facing a wall of obstacles that otherwise would have
been a large step for the online casino industry in the
Americas.
Some believe that if other large American gambling
companies had stepped up with CasinoCity in supporting their
claim, there would have been a stronger case against the
government. However, CasinoCity was the only one to put itself
at risk, consequently ending any chance to reinstate online
casinos advertising.
