Online Casino Gambling News - by Gamblers Lodge
Traditional Bookmaking Connected With Terrorism
The National Criminal Intelligence Service in Great Britain
is being asked to assess the newfound inherent risks of
bookmaking in the U.K. In a report published by an American
consulting firm, it is thought that traditional bookmaking,
which is in a war against the online gambling institution,
lends more opportunity to money laundering, including the
funding of terrorist activities that can go through without
any trace or tracking trail.
Most all betting shops in the UK will take giant sums of
cash without knowing the identity of the bettor. And all this
while, William Hill casino chief executive David Harding has
been railing against large online bookies like BetFair,
claiming they are destroying the gambling industry and
operating under illegal pretenses.
And although BetFair has defended itself with documented
audit trails and a history that has been bringing more return
to online gamblers than traditional bookmakers ever did,
Harding and his casino continue to throw allegations in the
air.
And now that online casino gambling is not being seen as
such the vehicle to fund terrorism, and that it ironically may
very well be the long standing legal establishment of
traditional bookmaking, it seems now that land-based bookies
better adapt or be phased out permanently.
