Gaming Corp. Joins Orange Cellular

Yet another cellular phone company has teamed up with an online casino in bringing consumers the new technology of mobile online gambling.  Orange Cellular is the newest mobile gaming entrepreneur to enter the estimated US$8.6 billion market in 2006, by developing a feature on its WAP portal that would enable online gambling at Casino.co.uk.  In collaboration with the UK online casino operator, The Gaming Corporation, Orange will be initially offering the phone to UK residents only, and will be considering a broader span of consumers in the near future.

In the UK, where online gambling is already legal, the venture seems promising enough, taking into consideration the booming success of mobile online casino gambling in Japan.  The phone interfaces will enable players to make secure financial deposits from the phone itself, and will feature the most popular gambling games like Roulette, Blackjack, and Poker.  In addition, subscribers to the service can play the games for free, rather than for real money gambling.

With the passage of the UK Gambling Bill looming nearby, Britain is an especially fertile ground for this newest technology to bolster online gambling.  Orange Cellular, which is an international company providing services to several countries, will begin its partnership with The Gaming Corporation in the UK, after which it hopes to expand in other regions where online gambling is condoned and legalized.
